Kumihimo uses silk thread. At our store, we order the thread for our braids from a thread shop in Nishijin, Kyoto.
This is not a silk thread, but a thread whose surface is coated with a gold or silver material. If you mix some of these threads into a silk braid, you can create an interesting effect by adding a little sparkle to the braid.

As a test, I made a gold and silver combination bracelet using all of this thread.

Due to the location of Kamakura, more than half of our customers are tourists from overseas. Personally, I don't really like sparkly things like this, but I thought there might be someone who would like something like this, so I decided to make one anyway.

Now, what kind of reaction will you get?
